Article marketing is considered one of the best techniques to promote your webpage and to increase its online visibility. Sure, some people are claiming that link building is more important, but link building is also based on original articles. One thing is certain: you will need original articles if you want your webpage on the first Google page of results.

Offer quality original content

If you are able to create or buy original and quality content, the site will be considered influential for the respective niche and keywords. The visitors recognize quality content from the first words, and they would probably recommend it to their friends. This recommendation can be made using the social networks, links, or emails, so it is better to integrate social bookmarking on your website.

What to avoid

-          Annoying texts with lots of grammar mistakes. Lots of people think that taking text from a foreign language and translating them with Google translate is a good idea. First, Google translate could never have perfect grammar, and second, this “smart” technique might already have been applied by somebody else, so your article might not be original.
-          Integrating text in images or publishing text under the form of images. Visitors would like to copy the texts, and this won’t be possible. Moreover, Google is not able to read text from images

Try to remain organized around the theme. It is always preferred to organize the text so the reader could know where the theme begins and ends. Splitting the text in logical paragraphs would help the viewers to find relevant content faster.

Avoid placing long paragraphs, even if they are containing relevant information.

Use keywords and relevant language

Choose the words carefully, as the searchers might find a piece of your webpage right on the first page of Google results! Google AdWords offers an application for keywords, so you will be able to find varieties of every keyword, and also relevant connected keywords that are important for the main theme of the site.

Google Webmaster Tools is another great program that shows you a list with the most relevant searches for your site.

Avoid copying any kind of text from other pages, as your content will lose its value.

Offer new services and content. You should think about new ideas based on your niche. Selling simple hard disks would be tricky. Even the newer USB hard disks are common in our days. However, a hard disk based on a wireless connection is surely something revolutionary that will attract many visitors.

If you don’t know some simple SEO techniques, trying to attract customers is a useless initiative. Sure, your products are great and also cheap. The design is absolutely perfect, as you spent some thousands of dollars for web developing. Without SEO, nobody would be able to find your perfect webpage. Here are the main techniques used by SEO specialists to increase the visibility of their webpages:

  1. Choose a smart title
You must choose a smart title that is relevant for the search engines, and it also tells the potential viewers what to expect. Don’t choose “weight loss products” in the title if you are selling baby products just because the weight loss niche is more popular. Even if the viewer would click the webpage, he will be disappointed about you cheating him, so he would leave the webpage instantly.

If you create categories and names of descriptive files, you will have an organized website that will lead to better Google indexing. Moreover, people that would like to place links to your website will have friendly URL’s at their disposal. Unfriendly links might create confusions, the users would not be able to remember them, and some people might also ignore the link because of its bad appearance.

The navigation is one of the most important aspects of a website. Even if the viewer finds the content of the first page relevant, he will surely renounce if he can’t find the drop-down menu instantly. The main page is the most visited webpage on the site, so it is better to create menus and subcategories, so the visitor could easily go from one page to another.

Don’t start copying content from other webpages. Especially for a new page, Google would never consider it relevant as long as the content is already present on other internet site. Write original articles or ask a freelancer to write them for you if you want quality.
